Yoga & the Outdoors
Yoga and the outdoors go together. The setting at Shank’s Mare offers spectacular scenery and an abundance of beautiful sites to perform this unique exercise regimen. Yoga instruction is headed up by Erin Darby, RTY 200. Hiking or Stand-Up Paddleboarding will be led by Erin and Shank’s Mare SUP specialist, Josh Hill. The outdoor settings are compliments of Mother Nature!
Cabin Fever Yoga
Winter Sessions – Sundays, Feb. 26, Mar. 12 or Mar. 26, 2017. Noon-2pm.
Our banquet room, The Rookery, offers a great place to practice yoga and fight those winter blues. The view from our second floor windows overlooking the beautiful Susquehanna is guaranteed to soothe anyone’s soul. Erin Darby will lead the yoga session. Herbal tea and relaxation is compliments of Shank’s Mare. So, until we can venture outdoors with our yoga sessions, join us for these “yoga with a view” sessions.
Program fee – includes yoga session, relaxation and tea – $20. Pre-registration is required by calling 717-252-1616.
Yoga & Hike with a View
Spring Sessons – Sundays, Apr. 9 or Apr. 23, May 7 or May 21, 2017. Noon-2pm.
Our yoga sessions are open to all levels, and will be held either in Shank’s Mare’s The Rookery, our side lawn, or on the Native Lands Trail depending on weather conditions. Every yoga session will be followed by a meditative hike. The views of the Susquehanna from any of our settings are beautifully peaceful and will definitely set the stage for a connection through yoga, hiking, and the natural outdoor environment. Dress appropriately, bring your mat and water. Herbal tea will be offered following each session.

Yoga & Stand-Up Paddleboard
June – Sun. June 11 or Sun. June 25, 2017, 9:30-11:30am. Fri. June 16, 2017, 10:30am-12:30pm.
July – Sun. July 9 or Sun. July 23, 2017, 9:30-11:30am. Fri. July 7, 2017, 10:30am-12:30pm.
August – Sun. August 20, 2017, 9:30-11:30am. Fri. Aug. 25, 2017, 10:30am-12:30pm.
September – Fri. September 8, 2017, 10:30am-12:30pm.
In this two hour class led by Erin Darby, RYT 200, you will practice the skills of grounding and centering, creating inner balance and linking movement to breath…all on a stand-up paddleboard. You’ll learn the basics of Stand-Up Paddle Boarding from Shank’s Mare SUP specialist Josh Hill. This is a great way to add the zen of water to the balance benefits of yoga. Dress appropriately for the water. Board, paddle and pfd provided.
Fee- includes board, paddle, pfd, instruction & practice – Members-$45/Person; Non-Members-$50/Person. Pre-registration required as class sizes are limited.
