Sat., April 1, 2017, 11am-noon

Stand-Up Paddleboards are not all created equal!  In this free, dry land clinic, learn about different board materials and designs and how they will perform on the water.  This will help you determine what the best board may be for your purposes.  We’ll also cover SUP paddles and pfd’s, and wearing the appropriate clothing for water conditions.  As with all paddlesports, there are safety skills that everyone should be aware of, and that includes SUP paddlers too.  We’ll cover some of these skills, and help get you ready for a fun and safe time on the water.

Hauling Your Paddlesports Gear

Sat., April 15, 2017, 10:30am-12:30pm

Shank’s Mare rack expert Devin Winand will conduct this clinic that begins with racking your vehicle for any number of kayaks or SUP’s.  He will give you tips on load assist options to make hefting your kayak on your car roof as easy as possible.  Most importantly, Devin will demonstrate the proper way to secure your load for transport.  We find that even folks who have been kayaking for a while sometimes do not use the safest methods of tying down gear.  This clinic will provide you with the safest methods to protect your car or truck, your paddlesports gear, and those who are following your loaded vehicle.
